11/11/2023 0 Comments Hoka one one arahiThe length fits long in adidas…I’m guessing 11 would work if you go with this brand. This shoe is heavier like Kayano but has more of a traditional feel. I am just testing it now, and it offers stability like adidas Supernova Sequence 9 (slightly less) with more of the brand’s Boost foam in the midsole (I love their foam: soft yet responsive). Kayano is more responsive, heavier, more stability, while Arahi is more cushioned and lighter.Ī good mix between the two is adidas Supernova. The cushion absorbs a slight bit of energy Īnd Arahi has a “rocker” base which is different from what any other brand offers. The drop height is 4 or 5 versus 13mm in K In my opinion Kayano offers more stability than Arahi, but Arahi is super light and cushioned. I love Kayano and their cushioning in the 23, but it does wear down into longer runs. If you have wider feet, I’d try HOKA’s “D” width before sizing up for that reason. ![]() It does fit a tad narrow, though, and some size up for that reason. In Arahi my bigger foot has plenty of room, so I think 11 would probably work length wise. I wear 9.5 in Kayano, but most people would go up half a size. My right foot is slightly over size 9.5, and my left measures slightly under. The length is longer than Kayano 23 in the same size. ![]() ![]() I find the most dramatic changes offered by HOKA toward increased stability and durability to come in Arahi’s sole unit. The cushion is delightful but also absorbs a bit of energy rather than transferring everything applied into the toe-off. Runners who love HOKA’s signature cushion but also need a more structured shoe have been wanting the brand to offer a shoe with more stability.Īrahi is HOKA’s answer to this demand, and the shoe offers low to moderate stability similar to that of Brooks’ Ravenna 8 but with a higher degree of cushion. A firm midsole provides Clydesdale cushioning and a longer shelf life. That sounds like a contradiction, but if I snug up the laces, the shoes pinch laterally for my average-width forefoot, and this leaves vertical room for the foot to move around, plus the toe box is wider than other brands.Ī narrow foot or someone who likes a roomy fit, will really like the HOKA mold. The RW Takeaway: The Arahi 3 is a stability shoe that can be great for recovery runs. The midfoot is narrow yet the fit, otherwise, is roomy. Arahi fits and rides very much like what I’ve experienced when running in the brand’s Clifton 2 and Challenger ATR 2.
